Illinois International Graduate Achievement Award

Nomination Deadline: October 5, 2007
This award recognizes a graduate student whose innovative and sustained international research or service, undertaken through their University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign affiliated international experience, has had the greatest impact or greatest potential impact on the University or larger community.
Key considerations in evaluating applications include:
- Documented excellence in extending University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign knowledge or public service commitment such that the academic work or service has led to new or increased interaction between University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign or an affiliated activity and a target country.
- Sustained and verifiable academic or service leadership in working with the public and/or external organization.
- Academic or service work should demonstrate innovation in working for the betterment and well-being of citizens and/or communities.
- Evidence of impact on target audience.
- Minimum 3.5 GPA.
Additional considerations:
- Demonstrated scholarly, professional, and/or personal growth as a result of the experience.
- Use of a language other than English proficiency in which was gained through language study at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign or another accredited university.
- The level of direct interaction with local communities in other countries to undertake problem-solving.
