International Council
Vision
- To
produce graduates with the capacity to be knowledgeable leaders and
citizens in an increasingly global society.
- To
employ and retain faculty who are dedicated to promoting international
awareness and understanding among students and exhibiting a commitment
to research and outreach conducted with an international perspective.
- To
educate the public regarding the international dimension of education,
business and public policy.
Mission
- To
support, promote and strengthen the international dimension of
University of Illinois teaching, research and engagement programs
including providing high quality international administrative services.
Function
- The
Council serves to strengthen, coordinate and encourage the
international dimension in teaching, research and continuing education
across campus and promotes international collaboration.
- It
works to provide general advice and guidance to the Director, promote
communication among faculty on international affairs, review the
overall direction of resources invested in the international dimension,
and provide assessment of and planning for UIUC needs in international
programs.
- The Council also participates in the
process of allocating and monitoring international faculty lines.
